Rep. Nancy Mace, R-S.C., hit back at a tough insult from Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn. Via social media, by using long-standing and unsubstantiated allegations that Omar married her brother to gain a visa- allegations that Omar has refuted time and again.

Rep. Ilhan Omar tweeted a remark against Mace: “One-way ticket to where you came from with your name on it, Nancy.”

Mace’s response to the Tweet was: “Say what you want about me, but I would never marry my brother.”

The barb refers to claims that have surfaced over the years that, in 2009, Omar married Ahmed Elmi to become a United States citizen, claims which Omar has always denied and which have never been proven.

The Twitter battle is coming a little bit after Mace finished fifth in the primary for the Republican gubernatorial election in South Carolina, which means she loses her seat in the House.

Before that, Mace tried to have Omar’s immigration records subpoenaed with the alleged brother and him at hearings investigating Minnesota fraud.
