Nancy Mace Slams the Door on Men After Flood of Explicit Messages: “My DMs Are CLOSED”

Rep. Nancy Mace has made it abundantly clear to the men who message her via DMs: She is not interested.

The South Carolina Republican shared a direct statement: “My DMs are CLOSED,” along with a video in which she speaks straight to the camera about a disappointing date, saying she has refused suitors and may not date again.

The video stems from an interview where she was asked, “Would you ever date a Democrat?” to which she replied, “Yes, although I just turned one down.”

When the interviewer asked, “You just turned one down?” She responded, saying, “I had a lot of suitors when the tattoo story came out.” The interviewer asked, “Really?” And she said, “Yes, including some Democrats. But I turned all of them down. I just said, “No, I don’t know.”

Asked, “You turned them down because they’re Democrats?” She answered, “I turned everybody down.” When asked, “Why?” she replied, “I just, I don’t know. I don’t know that I’ll ever date again. I don’t know.”

“You might never date again?” she was asked, and Mace responded, “I might never date again.”

Taking it further, she asked, “Why? You’re young?” “I know, because everything I’ve been through, I just don’t really see; it’s tough.”

Then asked, “So are you happy to stay single and not have a partner ever again for the rest of your life?” She replied, “Yeah.”

The statement comes after an interview she gave to TMZ where she talked about men messaging her inappropriate pictures in her DMs and rejecting dates due to her viral tattoo story. In the interview on Capitol Hill, TMZ’s Charlie Cotton interviewed Mace for nearly three minutes about dating.

When Cotton asked if men send her explicit pictures, Mace said, “Sometimes, and that’s nasty.” She said she rejects every man who contacts her through her DMs irrespective of his political stance.

She also spoke about the personal toll her decisions take. “I know it is lonely, but I don’t have any friends up here,” she said, adding that she puts herself into her work, that she is almost 50, and that her children are grown.

All this happened after a revealing episode in the summer: She gained significant attention through her arm tattoos when she showed them off in her YouTube show “Get Maced” while wearing a tank top and black swimsuit. Previously, she confessed that she got herself nine tattoos in quick succession after she faced many troubles, like getting dumped and ending up having to fire her entire congressional office staff. She has since told TMZ that she has more than nine tattoos and plans to get full sleeves.

She finished fifth in South Carolina’s Republican primary for governor, and she will retire from Congress next year.
