Netflix has announced that it has acquired the rights to produce and distribute a new comedy film titled The Fifth Wheel, starring Kim Kardashian and written by Paula Pell and Janine Brito.

The film is described as an ensemble comedy that follows the misadventures of a group of four female friends and their “fifth wheel” played by Kardashian.

The Fifth Wheel is the first feature film project for Kardashian, who is best known for her reality TV show The Kardashians and her recent role in the horror anthology series American Horror Story: Delicate.

Kardashian will also serve as a producer on the film, along with Pell, who is an Emmy-nominated writer and actress known for her work on Saturday Night Live, Sisters, and Wine Country.

Brito is a rising comedy writer who has worked on shows such as Mr. Mayor, Bless the Harts, and the upcoming second season of Girls5eva.

The logline for the film is under wraps, but sources say that it will showcase Kardashian’s comedic talents and chemistry with the rest of the cast, who have not been announced yet.

The film is expected to start production in early 2024 and premiere on Netflix later that year.
