Netflix and entertainment studio WildBrain unveiled a set of new cast members of the highly rated teen drama series Finding Her Edge as part of its second season, along with returning cast members. Filming is underway on location in Southern Ontario and will continue until December.
New additions:
- Nikita J Olechko (Snowpiercer) in a series regular role of Andrej, the best singles skater at Voltage Academy.
- Niamh Blackshaw (The Jetty) as Freya, a rival ice dancer at the academy.
- Matthew Finlan (Sheriff Country) in a series regular role as David, Freya’s partner and a rival ice dancer.
- Johnny Orlando, a Canadian singer and songwriter who is the three-time MTV EMA winner and two-time JUNO nominee, in a series regular role of Jesse, a charming local.
- Elvis Stojko (Murdoch Mysteries, Hate the Player: The Ben Johnson Story) back in a series regular role of Kevin, an owner of Voltage Academy.
Three actors are cast in recurring roles:
- Justine Nelson (Mind Fudge) as Lucy Grant, the academy’s lead choreographer.
- Saara Chaudry (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Holly Hobbie), CSA and ACTRA Award winner, as Zoie, Brayden’s former skating partner and ex-girlfriend.
- Matt Wells (Who’s Yer Father?, North of North) as Mason Guilbart, the new coach of Adriana and Brayden.
Plot of season 2:
The Russo sisters decide to leave their family rink for the tough Voltage Academy, where each skate may affect their National Team aspirations. In the middle of their struggle, Adriana has to decide whether to stay faithful to her boyfriend Freddie or return to her skating partner Brayden, whom she can never forget.
Returning cast members include Madelyn Keys, Harmon Walsh, Alexandra Beaton, Cale Ambrozic, Olly Atkins, Meredith Florenza, Alice Malakhov, Millie Davis, and Yona Epstein Roth.
Paolo Barzman, Melanie Orr, James Genn, and Jacqueline Pepall will direct season 2; they previously directed season 1.
Jeff Norton is the show’s creator and executive producer, with Shelley Scarrow as head writer and executive producer. Season 2 is written by Sabrina Sherif, Norton, and Pepall. WildBrain executive producers include Josh Scherba, Stephanie Betts, and Angela Boudreault.
“It’s a true privilege to hit the ice for a second season with this incredible cast, and to further the stories of our inspirational characters in a juicy, soapy sophomore season of ‘Finding Her Edge,'” Norton said.
Finding Her Edge is produced by WildBrain, was ordered by Netflix, and is based on the Jennifer Iacopelli novel. The first season premiered on January 22, 2026, landed at No. 4 on Netflix Global Top 10, and made its way into the Top 10 in 81 countries.
The series also increased interest in the source material. According to Spotify, global audiobook listens rose 990% and global searches rose 1,300%.
