The cast and filmmakers from “A Thousand and One” celebrated the upcoming Focus Features debut of the emotional all-new feature film at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah.

In attendance were Teyana Taylor, their husband Iman Shumpert, Executive producer Lena Waithe, William Catlett, Director A.V. Rockwell, and more.

The film takes place in 1994. When Inez De La Paz (Teyana Taylor) kidnaps her 6-year-old child Terry (Aaron Kingley Adetola) out of the foster care system, she knows what’s in store for him if he stays with the city as she too is a product of the system. But as they try to live in New York City, her actions soon catch up to her, and her tenuous stability is compromised.
