Will people fall in love when they act together in a romantic K-drama? Love Like a K-Drama is a reality dating show that centers on four Korean actors and four Japanese actresses who come together to live and pair up to try and land lead roles in six mini K-dramas. Will they be able to pass the audition with the person they love, or will they have to witness their romantic interest kissing their competitors?

Filmed in Seoul, the series premieres on November 28th, with new multi-episodes released every week. Dreams, romance, and friendship intertwine beyond the borders of Korea and Japan, encapsulating the purest essence of heartbreak and sorrow, as seen in a conventional K-drama but with a strikingly authentic touch.

Transcending language barriers, nationalities, and cultures, Love Like a Drama gives all eight actors the opportunity to find true love as they share an apartment together in Seoul.

While some of the male actors may have a basic knowledge of Japanese, the group relies on smartphone translation apps to communicate effectively. Over time, they grow close through shared meals, drinks, audition rehearsals, and a mutual understanding. Some even learn new languages, ultimately connecting through unspoken nuances and shared atmospheres.

Most of them are so dedicated to their craft that they have little time for romantic relationships. As the series unfolds, you’ll witness their growth as actors and their struggles as they confront new challenges – including the blossoming romance with the actor they are paired with – which are typically not seen behind the scenes.

The four actresses from Japan include Rio, who’s most experienced and the oldest; Ayano and Honoka, both in their twenties but already boast nearly a decade of acting experience each; and Nozomi, a former member of the dance and vocal group E-Girls, who has recently embarked on her acting career.

The four actors from Korea include Won Shik, the most experienced actor, known for his roles in True Beauty and Alchemy of Souls; Dong Kyu and Tae Gyun who are models and are relatively new to acting; and Ji-Hyuk, who are the member of boy band Supernova and became an actor in Korea.

The show is hosted by Yuko Fueki known as Yumin in Korea and includes studio members Haruna Kondo (Harisenbon), Aa-CHAN (Perfume), Shusuke Fukutoku (Jarujaru), Hayato Komori (GENERATIONS), and Maria Tani. Written and performed by AiNA THE END, the evocative theme song for the series, “Diana”, stirs the depths of your love for someone.

Who will find true love? Find out when ‘Love Like a K-Drama’ premieres on Netflix on November 28th.
