Earlier this year, Nicki Minaj announced she and fellow label-mate Lil Wayne were pulling out of their scheduled BET Experience Concert over a since-deleted tweet from the network. The tweet accompanied an article on Cardi B becoming the first female rapper to win Best Rap Album at the Grammys.
“Meanwhile, Nicki Minaj is being dragged by her lacefront,” the post read after detailing Cardi’s achievement.
Fast forward to today. The BET Awards just aired over the weekend (June 23) and reportedly garnered the lowest ratings in BET’s history.
Nicki blasted BET when she saw the numbers, which may be inaccurate, after retweeting an image showing the decline in viewership over the years.
The MEGATRON rapper tweeted, “When u go out of ur way to b spiteful & hurt artists who have always supported ur show…when you fire great ppl who have put their heart & soul into the show…when you’d rather be a messy reality show than a prestigious award show…when ur still being dragged by that lace.”

Maybe Nicki will have more to say about her beef with BET during her appearance on “The Tonight Show” with Jimmy Fallon on Thursday, 6/27.
