Paramount Pictures has just dropped the adrenaline-pumping trailer for Novocaine, a high-powered thriller that’s guaranteed to keep movie audiences on the edge. Pitting The Boys star Jack Quaid against Prey star Amber Midthunder in this adrenaline-fueled movie, Novocaine delves deep into the story of an ordinary man with an extraordinary condition-and what happens when he’s pushed to the edge.
In Novocaine, Quaid plays Nathan “Nate” Caine, an average Joe born with a rare condition that makes him impervious to pain. While he has grown accustomed to his curious gift-or curse-his world is turned upside down when his girlfriend, played by Midthunder, gets kidnapped. What ensues is a merciless pursuit to save her, where Nate’s condition becomes his most deadly weapon in a battle with dangerous adversaries.
Written by Lars Jacobson, it is directed by Dan Berk and Robert Olsen of Villains-fame and boasts a cast including Ray Nicholson, Betty Gabriel, Matt Walsh, and Jacob Batalon. The following trailer offers dark humor, heavy action sequences, and a surprisingly potent emotional core as Nate learns the limitations of both body and mind.
From Safehouse Pictures and Circle Management + Production, the film is produced by the impressive filmmaking team of producers Drew Simon (Jojo Rabbit), Tory Tunnell, and Joby Harold (Obi-Wan Kenobi).
With its original conceit and a career-making turn from Jack Quaid, Novocaine just might be one of 2025’s must-see blockbusters. Fans can view the trailer now and prepare for an adrenaline-heavy thrill ride when the movie goes into theaters on March 14th, 2025.
