OnlyFans Model Says Sydney Sweeney Would “Crash the Site” on Day One

An OnlyFans creator who says she earns over $1 million a month says the platform needs celebrities but warns that misleading marketing by a famous newcomer years ago is still causing trouble for other creators.

23-year-old Skylar Mae, who works in the United States, says she doesn’t mind celebrities participating on the platform. However, her concern is that some celebrities mislead people about the nature of the products they are selling.

“I don’t think celebrities ruin OnlyFans just by joining it,” Mae said. “The problem is when they mislead people about what they’re selling.”

She cited actor Bella Thorne, whose debut caused discontent among subscribers who felt that the product they received wasn’t what they were promised. Skylar Mae said that the aftermath of that launch affects creators who had nothing to do with it.

“When Bella Thorne joined, she advertised content that wasn’t what subscribers thought they were paying for, and that ended up causing huge problems for the rest of us,” Skylar Mae said.

According to her, the consequences of that launch led to policy changes that affect the business to this day. One major policy change was regarding chargebacks, which allow subscribers to demand a refund after viewing the content.

“The biggest lasting consequence was how OnlyFans changed its approach to chargebacks, making it much easier for subscribers to view content, then ask for a refund,” she said.

In her opinion, that change harms the many creators who advertise their products accurately.

“The majority of creators are honest about what they’re selling, but we’re the ones who ended up paying the price for something one person did,” she said. “It makes things harder for creators who actually deliver what they promised.”

However, Skylar Mae believes that celebrities’ accounts can benefit the platform by attracting new viewers.

“I actually think celebrities can help the platform,” she said. “People like Cardi B have brought a lot of attention to OnlyFans, and Tyga did the same before he left. Big names introduce new audiences to the platform, which can be good for everyone.”

Asked which celebrities she would like to see on the platform, she named several A-list performers who, in her opinion, would draw huge attention to the website.

“On my bucket list, I’d love to see Sydney Sweeney, Megan Fox, Kylie Jenner and Megan Thee Stallion join OnlyFans,” she said. “Every single one of them would absolutely break the internet. They’d bring millions of new eyes to the platform overnight.”

She said that Sweeney would be the most likely breakout because of the scale of her potential debut.

“If Sydney Sweeney started an OnlyFans, I think she would crash the site,” Skylar Mae said. “If she joined, it would break the internet. She’d bring so many eyeballs onto the platform, which is honestly a good thing. I think she could easily make $5 to $10 million on her first day because all these men and women (including myself) are desperate to see her b**bs.”

According to Skylar Mae, becoming a creator without being famous beforehand has become much more difficult with the rise of celebrities and influencers on the platform.

“I definitely think it’s harder than it used to be because the platform is more crowded now,” she said.

According to her, most newcomers nowadays require a following on other platforms before creating an account.

“These days, you almost need an audience somewhere else first, whether that’s Instagram, TikTok or another social platform. Starting completely from scratch is much tougher because there are so many people competing for attention. It’s not the novelty it once was.”

However, she believes that the presence of celebrities on the platform can be beneficial if people know exactly what they are buying.

“If celebrities are using the platform to sell music, behind-the-scenes content or whatever they’re genuinely offering, I think that’s great,” she said. “It brings more attention to OnlyFans and can help normalize it.”

Transparency, in her opinion, is the only requirement.

“As long as everyone’s being honest, I think celebrities are a positive for the platform.”

Asked whether the company should implement different policies regarding celebrities, Skylar Mae said that she wouldn’t change the rules and that the responsibility should be on individuals.

“Honestly, I wouldn’t change anything about how OnlyFans handles celebrities specifically,” she said.

She believes that the standard should be the same for everyone who uses the platform.

“I think the responsibility falls on the individual creator, whether they’re famous or not. If you’re asking people to pay for something, you should be delivering exactly what you’ve promised. That’s really all it comes down to.”
