The authorities in Paraguay have detained a 24-year-old woman who officials said used her social media profiles to advertise illegal drugs and to entice minors to participate in a criminal enterprise.

Mónica Dahiana Bóveda Báez was arrested in a raid led by members of the Paraguayan National Anti-Drug Secretariat (SENAD) and a drug house in the San Juan neighborhood of the capital city of Asuncion.

According to investigators, Bveda Bez would advertise the sale of drugs and finalize all transactions via social media while creating a false image of extravagant living on the internet in order to draw youngsters in. She allegedly would lure minors to her account and encourage their involvement in criminal activities.

The raid resulted in the seizure of quantities of marijuana, base paste, and cocaine along with currency, cell phones, handguns, and ammunition.

A group of minors was discovered at the house with indications that they were present to purchase and consume illegal narcotics, according to authorities.

Officials have said that this case highlights concerns over criminals utilizing social networking to lure vulnerable juveniles.

Authorities are sifting through data from computers and mobile phones, trying to determine whether there were other individuals involved.

The suspect is currently in police custody.
