The second season of Peacock’s dark comedic thriller BASED ON A TRUE STORY has been renewed. UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group, is responsible for the series.
Kaley Cuoco stars alongside Chris Messina, Tom Bateman, Priscilla Quintana, and Liana Liberato in the series.
BASED ON A TRUE STORY is a satire of the true crime genre with elements inspired by true events. Season 1 follows Ava (Kaley Cuoco) and her husband Nathan (Chris Messina), a down-on-their-luck couple whose lives collide with an infamous serial killer terrorizing Los Angeles and seize a unique opportunity to capitalize on America’s obsession with true crime by making a podcast with the killer.
BASED ON A TRUE STORY debuted on June 8 and has a 100% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with critics raving:
