According to the Mayor’s office Philadelphia Police Commissioner Richard Ross resigned amid new allegations of sexual harassment as well as gender and racial discrimination among the rank. He resigned even though those allegations do not accuse Commissioner Ross of harassment.

Mayor indicates Ross was too slow implementing policies to prevent gender and racial harrasment and discrimination within the department.
