The Alameda County Sheriff’s office is pursuing a misdemeanor charge against Raptors GM Masai Ujiri for simple battery of a police officer for last night’s postgame incident.
The deputy was trying to stop Masai for going on the court to celebrate the championship his team won last night. He didn’t have a pass so the deputy wasn’t going to allow him to go on the court. The deputy and Masai got into a little scuffle. The story should end here. It was a brawl and nobody was hurt.
Masai is the architect of the Toronto Raptors. He traded for key pieces of this championship team. Masai brought in Kawhi Leonard, Marc Gasol, and Danny Green. He was trying to celebrate with his team and things got out of hand but everybody is okay.
