Ashoke Pandit, the president of the Indian Film & Television Directors’ Association, expressed his anger openly, seeking a legal course of action. Pandit issued a strongly worded statement, accusing Poonam of disrespecting cancer patients and weakening the efforts of doctors trying to fight the disease.

But all controversies notwithstanding, she has maintained a formidable presence on social media, and the number of views her provocative content generates is a testament to this fact. Recently, she created a stir with a video clip showcasing herself in a bikini by the scenic bank of a river. While many fans liked the confidence in her personality, there were speculations that the video was Photoshopped.
