Prime Video Announces Premiere Date for Action-Thriller G20 Starring Viola Davis

Prime Video has announced the highly anticipated premiere of G20, a gripping action-thriller starring Academy Award winner Viola Davis, set to debut on April 10. Directed by Patricia Riggen (The 33, Under the Same Moon), the film promises a high-stakes blend of action and drama as it follows U.S. President Danielle Sutton (Davis) in a fight to save her family, her country, and world leaders during a harrowing siege on the G20 summit. The film will be available to stream in over 240 countries and territories worldwide.

“This is Viola Davis as you’ve never seen her—heroically kicking tons of ass in a global thrill ride,” said Riggen. “With G20, I wanted to create a classic, edge-of-your-seat action film that reflects the high stakes of our modern, technologically advanced world. My goal is to deliver an experience that captivates audiences from start to finish.”

Alongside Davis, the ensemble cast features Anthony Anderson (Black-ish) as Derek Sutton, Marsai Martin (Little) as Serena Sutton, Ramón Rodríguez (The Wire) as Agent Manny Ruiz, Douglas Hodge (Joker) as Oliver Everett, Elizabeth Marvel (Homeland) as Joanna Worth, Sabrina Impacciatore (The White Lotus) as Elena Romano, Christopher Farrar (The Boys) as Demetrius Sutton, and Antony Starr (The Boys) as Rutledge.

“G20 is a high-stakes action film with a lot of heart,” said Davis and Julius Tennon, who also serve as producers through their JuVee Productions banner. “It boasts a fantastic ensemble cast and is rooted in the universal drive to protect the people and places that matter most to us,” added producer Andrew Lazar (American Sniper).

The film was penned by Caitlin Parrish and Erica Weiss (The Red Line), alongside Logan Miller and Noah Miller (White Boy Rick), with story by the Miller brothers. It is a co-production of Amazon MGM Studios and MRC, with Mad Chance Productions and JuVee Productions also involved in production.
