British singing sensation RAYE has finally reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for a record of her own. The fiery new single “Where Is My Husband!” debuts at No. 90 this week, following her headlining set for the NFL’s first-ever halftime concert for its Oct. 5th London Game at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Touchdown and Takeoff: RAYE Boosts Billboard Chart After NFL Halftime Performance
This halftime concert was a London first, and RAYE returned the favor by delivering a spirited set that boosted her single to number one on U.S. charts. A massive hit across all of Europe, “Where Is My Husband!” gradually rose through the ranks due to its aggressive arrangement and dominant lead vocals by RAYE. Tottenham’s international exposure, though, sent it onto the Billboard chart for the first time.
No Label, No Limits Declaration of Independence Song
Self-released, it’s co-penned and co-produced by RAYE and songwriter/producer Mike Sabath. The recording is a lush, genre-bending set of soulful horns, uplifting strings, and gospel choir, rounded off by a personal touch: RAYE’s grandmother’s singing contributions. The song’s lyric ponders the contradiction of loving someone yet flourishing on independence, flipping vulnerability upside down by making it a source of strength.
