Rep. Anna Paulina Luna denied any physical contact with HUD Secretary Scott Turner during an incident at the Republican midterm convention in Dallas that quickly spread on social media.
Video footage of the event, which took place in September 2026, appeared to show Turner trying to grab Luna’s buttocks as he approached her onstage.
MeidasTouch Network reporter Pablo Manriquez asked Luna for quick clarification on the matter.
“Could I get a quick clear-the-air question?” Manriquez said. “The internet wants to know, did Scott Rogers pat you on the butt?”
According to Luna, she had not seen anything happen during the convention because she was about to step up to the podium at the time.
“I actually was walking towards at that point to speak, so I didn’t even see that till after the fact,” Luna noted. “And one could only assume that maybe it was just, he played football, you know, so probably, but no, there was no contact.”
Luna linked the action to the fact that Turner used to play sports professionally, since Turner is a former NFL player who switched career paths into politics.
“I think that he’s obviously a former football player and maybe went for a high five; I don’t know,” Luna concluded.
At that point, Manriquez decided to talk about something else.
“Congresswoman, you’re feeling the cooperation on data centers,” he said.
