Rita Ora Unveils Emotional Tribute with Keith Urban in New Single, ‘Shape Of Me’

BMG recording artist Rita Ora has surprised fans with a heartfelt rendition of her track ‘Shape Of Me,’ featuring country music icon Keith Urban. The song, initially featured on Rita’s successful ‘You & I’ album, takes on a special meaning as Ora dedicates it to her mother on her 60th birthday.

Expressing her inspiration on social media, Rita Ora shared, “Happy Birthday mum! We’ve been through everything together. You’ve always been such a beautiful inspiration in my life and in my music. I wanted to write a song about you for the longest time, so when ‘Shape Of Me’ was written, I was finally able to share so much that I’ve been feeling about you. So surprise mum, this one is for you! Happy 60th!”

The original version of ‘Shape Of Me’ played a significant role in Rita’s musical journey. Upon the release of her ‘You & I’ album last year, it swiftly claimed the Number One spot on the UK Official Independent Albums Chart, marking the highest new entry from a female act in the UK Official Albums Chart at number six.

Teaming up with fellow The Voice Australia co-star and renowned country artist Keith Urban, Rita Ora added a new layer of depth to ‘Shape Of Me.’ Urban, reflecting on their collaboration, stated, “When I did The Voice with Rita, we just clicked right away. She’s great energy to be around, and she’s a bad ass singer. So, when she sent me this song and asked if I wanted to sing with her on it, I said, ‘Can I play guitar too?’. I love how it turned out!”

This collaboration comes on the heels of Rita Ora’s recent singles, including ‘You & I,’ ‘Don’t Think Twice,’ ‘You Only Love Me,’ and ‘Praising You’ featuring Fatboy Slim, which garnered a nomination for Dance Song of the Year at the 2023 iHeartRadio Music Awards.
