Pop artist Sabrina Carpenter filed a temporary restraining order against a 31-year-old man whom she considers a stranger who invaded her Los Angeles residence on numerous occasions, as revealed in court documents.
According to Carpenter, she has never met the accused, William Applegate, and does not ever wish to meet him.
Her court filing concerns several incidents that began on May 23, when Applegate apparently forced his way past her house’s security fencing and reached her door, as evidenced by Ring doorbell video footage included in the filing. Carpenter claims he tried to force his way inside before being prevented by her security team. Los Angeles police subsequently arrested Applegate for trespassing.
According to Carpenter and her legal representatives, the following day, Applegate returned to her residence, where he remained in her driveway for roughly two hours. Furthermore, he appeared to be back at her home the next day.
It was reported that Applegate’s stalking activities started as early as April 20.
She called Applegate delusional and is fearful of what he could do. According to the police detective assigned to this case, Applegate is clearly a threat to Carpenter due to his mental instability.
Applegate will make an appearance before the court on June 18.
