San Antonio police officers arrested an elementary teacher from the Northside Independent School District on Monday for continuous sexual assault of a child.

According to authorities, Cecilia Mueller, 46, was apprehended as a result of the investigation conducted by the San Antonio Police Department’s Special Victims Unit. The detectives emphasized that there might be more victims and called on individuals with information to come forward, or those who think they are victims, to report by calling (210) 207-2313.

Mueller began teaching in Northside ISD in August 2007, and she served at Bob Lewis Elementary School until June 2019, when she relocated to Henderson Elementary School. She has been put on administrative leave by the Northside ISD’s Employee Relations department.

Lillyana Hinojosa, the principal of Henderson Elementary School, notified parents of Mueller’s arrest in a letter, stating that the campus will prioritize students’ safety and education.

Continuous sexual abuse of a young child or children is listed in Section 21.02 of the Texas Penal Code. It is classified as a first-degree felony, punishable by 25 to 99 years or life in prison.

The investigation is ongoing in the case. Individuals with any information are advised to call SAPD at (210) 207-2313.
