Shirin David, one of the most successful female hip-hop musicians in Germany, has signed a worldwide deal with Warner Chappell Music, the music publishing arm of Warner Music Group.

Shirin says: “I’m excited to be working with Warner Chappell Music. I’ve got some amazing new music in the pipeline, and I can’t wait for people to hear it.”

Natascha Augustin, VP, A&R, Warner Chappell Music Germany, adds: “Warner Chappell Music is known for its diverse roster, and we’re delighted to welcome Shirin, who has been pushing boundaries as a female hip-hop artist. It’s an exciting time for her as she’s set to release her third album, and we’re eager to see her develop even further as an artist.”

The 27-year-old singer-songwriter and rapper has five German Number One singles to her name, and her debut album also topped the German charts. A hugely successful influencer, her YouTube channel has attracted almost three million subscribers.

David launched her career on YouTube, creating her channel back in 2014. The following year she enjoyed her first Top 10 single when she featured on R&B singer Ado Kojo’s cover of the song ‘Du liebst mich nicht’.
Her debut album, Supersize, went to Number One in 2019. It was the first album by a female German rapper to top the charts.

The album touched on themes of empowerment, hedonism, materialism, and self-objectification and got produced in collaboration with a range of artists and producers, including Chima Ede and FNSHRS.

David also enjoyed her first Number One single with ‘Gib Ihm’ in 2019, with the track going on to be certified Platinum by German trade body BVMI and IFPI Austria. Her 2020 single ‘90-60-111’ also reached Number 1 in Germany and Austria.

In 2021, David released her second album, Bitches Brauchen Rap, which went to Number Three on the German and Austrian charts, and contained the German Number One singles ‘Ich Darf Das’, ‘Lieben Wir’ and ‘Be A Hoe/Break A Hoe (ft. Kitty Kat).

David is working on her third studio album, with new music expected towards the end of 2023.
