Skylar Stecker Talks “FWY,” New Music, and Reveals She Wants to Collaborate With Bruno Mars

Skylar Stecker is a Pop/R&B star on the rise with 17 million streams on Spotify and 33 million views on YouTube. She released her new single “FWY” (Fuck With You) on February 19th. Skylar wrote FWY with Maylia and produced by Jordon Manswell.

Although Stecker is barely 20 years old, the creative powerhouse has already racked up a long list of impressive accomplishments, an undisputable testament to her spectacular ambition and aptitude for her craft. First gaining notoriety in 2012, she became the youngest artist to top the Billboard Dance charts with three #1 singles. Her sophomore album Redemption, garnered her many accolades. Skylar has been named YouTube’s Artist on The Rise, featured on their R&B Wave playlist as well as Vevo’s Pop-Teen playlist. Both Redemption and Obvious were added to mtvU ‘s rotation. She was selected as an iHeart Radio Up Next Artist and Elvis Duran also named her his artist of the month on the Today Show. From tackling arranging to vocal recording and production, she strives to learn all she can about the language of music and its moving pieces, and her prodigious dedication to mastering her art form is overwhelmingly evident in her phenomenal stage shows. A dynamic and vivacious performer, she plays a hand in everything, including choreography, meticulously designing her own world that she and her fans can get lost in together.   She is also a self-taught multi-instrumentalist (drums, guitar and piano).
