Social Media Reacts to Samara Weaving Landing Emma Frost in Marvel’s X-Men

Marvel Studios has chosen Samara Weaving for their upcoming X-Men film, according to Deadline.

Weaving will portray Emma Frost after director Jake Schreier and Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige conducted an extensive search last week for the right actress, according to Deadline and The Playlist, which did not comment on the news.

This summer, Schreier and Marvel executives met and auditioned several actors for various parts, with the search for Frost being the most exhaustive of all the new cast members. The final auditions were conducted shortly after July 4th, with Weaving July 4thut as the preferred choice following the auditions, according to Deadline.

Emma Frost, also known as the White Queen, first made an appearance in the Marvel Comics series in 1980 as a powerful telepath, a villain of the Hellfire Club and later a prominent member, instructor, and the leader of the X-Men. The character was created by comic book writer Chris Claremont and artist John Byrne and debuted as a villain during the 1980 story arc The Dark Phoenix Saga.”

So far, Emma Frost has been depicted in live-action twice: firstly as Finola Hughes in the TV movie “Generation X” and secondly as January Jones in “X-Men: First Class”, according to SlashFilm.
