Sofia Dawson: Student Claims Assumption University Ignored Her After Reporting She Was Roofied

Sofia Dawson has started a petition to remove a man that she claims roofied her off campus. When Dawson reported the incident to male misconduct administrators at Assumption University they allegedly told her they “…did not believe this happened.” Even though Dawson had evidence and witnesses who corroborated her story—her alleged perpetrator was allowed to still live on campus.

Due to this event, Dawson claims she was diagnosed with Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, Depression, and Anxiety. It took her months to recover and to become a functioning individual again. She did not leave her house for 3 months and rarely got out of bed.

The alleged incident occurred on October 11, 2020 during the fall semester of her Freshman year. She reveals the student’s name is Ibrahim Soree Kaba who goes by Soree Kaba. At the time he was a member of the men’s soccer team.

Dawson is bringing this back up because Assumption University has now allowed Soree Kaba back on campus before he was forced to commute. Her goal is to protect the students of the Assumption community from this alleged sexual predator. Dawson wants Assumption University to stop normalizing rape culture and provide the justice that not only her but other women deserve as well.
