Sophie Rain, a content creator who recently made her New York Swim Week debut, is certain that walking the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show would definitely be a dream of hers after she just got accustomed to walking the catwalk.
Rain walked the New York show in a very elaborate winged outfit designed for her, set against the backdrop of a jungle waterfall, which is quite a contrast to her debut appearance at Miami Swim Week several months ago.
While there is little time between the two appearances, the social media influencer admits that the experience she gained during the first one taught her a lot. While the Miami appearance was nerve-wracking for Rain, her second debut was full of confidence and presence.
“Miami was my first time ever walking a runway, so I was definitely nervous and trying to remember everything at once,” Rain explained during an exclusive interview with Where Is The Buzz. “Between Miami and New York, I learned to slow down, trust myself, and actually enjoy the moment instead of overthinking every step. The New York look was much more elaborate, so I had to learn how to carry the costume rather than let it carry me. I felt a lot more comfortable and confident this time. Once I stepped out and saw the waterfall backdrop, I just tried to own it and have fun.”

It is worth noting that Rain made waves with her runway debut, sparking controversy on social media. People doubted whether an OnlyFans model had a place in a regular fashion show. But Rain managed to turn things in her favor with her response: “Bops can be models too.”
In any case, Rain admits that she used the controversy as additional motivation for her New York appearance and believes that the fashion community’s perception of the creators is gradually changing.
“It definitely motivated me,” Rain revealed. “I knew there would be people who questioned why I was there, but I also knew I had earned the opportunity. I don’t believe someone’s job or background should automatically disqualify them from trying something new. ‘Bops can be models too’ was my funny way of saying that we belong in these spaces as much as anyone else. The reaction in New York felt much more positive. I think people are beginning to understand that creators can cross into fashion, acting, business, or anything else we work hard at.”

That gradual acceptance is making Rain think even bigger now, and, with aspirations for the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, the model is considering appearing there one day.
“Walking for Victoria’s Secret would absolutely be a dream,” Rain said. “When I put on the wings in New York, I definitely had that Angel feeling for a second. Victoria’s Secret has such a long history in fashion, and being part of that show would be an incredible moment. Fashion is changing, and brands are realizing that influence and beauty come in many different forms. Creators have built huge communities and strong personal brands, so I think it would make sense for Victoria’s Secret to embrace more people from our world.”
Savage X Fenty, Rihanna’s brand that usually casts models who are not necessarily professional but creators, dancers, athletes, and people of all body types, might become the clear path towards her dream of walking in the VS Show.
“Absolutely,” she said when asked whether she would walk a Fenty show. “Rihanna has always been ahead of the curve when it comes to celebrating different types of beauty and giving people a platform to express themselves. Savage X Fenty feels more like a performance and a celebration than a traditional fashion show, which is something I would love to experience. I admire how fearless Rihanna is with everything she creates, so walking in one of her shows would be an honor.”
Now Rain has experience walking the runway at Miami Swim Week and New York Swim Week, so her life includes attending shows and vacations in bikinis. That is why Rain is thinking of designing her own swimwear and creating her fashion line.
Moreover, Rain suggested holding “Bop Week” runway shows in which creators will be the only models.
“I would love to launch my own bikini or fashion line one day,” Rain says. “Swimwear is already such a big part of my image, so it would feel natural to create pieces that make women feel confident, sexy, and comfortable. I would definitely include other creators in the campaign because there are so many beautiful and talented women who deserve opportunities outside of social media. A ‘Bop Week’ runway show actually sounds iconic. It would be fun to build an event where creators are the main attraction and can show that we are capable of doing much more than people expect from us.”
