The celebrated Korean webcomic/web novel “SSS Class Revival Hunter” will be adapted into an anime set to premiere in January 2027 on Crunchyroll, but not in Asia.
The anime will also air in the Indian subcontinent, Indonesia, Singapore, the Philippines, and Malaysia.
As part of the announcement, the first teaser trailer and image were released to offer a sneak peek at the beginning of Gongja Kim. He lives an insignificant life as a low-ranked hunter, looking up to others who made it to the top. There is a mysterious card floating above him, emitting light, while the Sword Emperor observes him from behind.
Gongja Kim’s Japanese voice actor is Takeo Otsuka, and the Sword Emperor’s is Satoshi Hino.
Hiroaki Sakurai directs the anime, written by Sayuri Oba, with character designs by Takahiro Yoshimatsu, and STUDIO fu produces it.
According to the official plot, a tower appears, infested with various monsters, and lures Hunters with promises of fame and fortune. However, Gongja Kim, a puny F-rank Hunter, dreams of becoming the Flame Emperor, the best of the hunters. Gongja Kim gets his chance when he teams up with the Sword Emperor and acquires an S-rank skill, but only if he dies..
