SZA’s ‘SOS’ album spent a fourth week at #1 on the Billboard 200, with 125,000 units earned.
‘SOS’ by SZA is officially the first female R&B album of the century to spend its first four weeks at #1 on the Billboard 200.
It becomes the first R&B album by a woman to spend its first four weeks at #1 on the Billboard 200 since ‘Janet.’ by Janet Jackson in 1993.
‘SOS’ is the first R&B album by a woman to spend four weeks at #1 on the Billboard 200 since ‘As I Am’ by Alicia Keys in 2008.
SZA also rewrote history with streaming platforms. Her hit song, “Kill Bill,” becomes the first solo song by a black woman to spend 25 days at #1 on the US Spotify chart. It’s the first solo song by a black woman to spend 20 days at #1 on the global Apple Music chart.
While ‘SOS’ is doing tremendously well, SZA’s debut album “Ctrl” becomes the first album by a black female artist in history to spend 290 consecutive weeks on the Billboard 200.
