Attack On Titan Season 4 Episode 28 Review: The Dawn of Humanity

Attack On Titan Season 4 Episode 28 Review: The Dawn of Humanity

“The Dawn of Humanity” is a masterfully executed episode. The episode went 0-100 real quick. It starts off Mikasa’s flashback of when the Eldians traveled to Marley to see what their upcoming plans were. One of the most joyful parts of the episode is when the Eldians see life outside of the walls. It was their first time seeing a car, eating ice cream and candy. It was a reminder to me to appreciate everything you have because someone else in the world has less.

There is one question Eren asked Mikasa that had her really startled. If she answered it honestly, I do wonder if that changes any of his plans but if Eren doesn’t carry out his current plans would the Eldians even exist.

One of my favorite parts of the episode is when they get wasted drunk with people that had to abandon their homes due to Marley’s ruthless ways. This was the last time everyone really had a good time. This scene illustrates what a world with peace could actually look like if everyone settled their differences. It was also good seeing Sasha again. I truly missed her.

In Mikasa flashback, Eren confirms he has already accessed his father’s memories. He already started to plan his ultimate mission before they arrived at Marley but after attending the Marley meeting undercover, he ditches the gang to go through with his master plan.

They showed a flashback with Eren and Zeke talking again and I always wondered why Zeke didn’t try to unite with Eren before season 4 aired. Some speculation online I’ve seen is Zeke didn’t trust Eren at that point but when did Eren gain Zeke trust over the years?

The ending of “The Dawn of Humanity” is Eren’s plan coming to fruition when he arrives with the wall titans from sea to wreak havoc on the Marley territories. We get to see a glimpse of Eren is his new form which is f*cking scary. I truly don’t understand how they plan on destroying the wall titans and Eren in part 3 of ‘Attack on Titan’ season 4 when it comes back in 2023.

Attack on Titan Season 4 Episode 19 Review: Eren Yeager Is Dead?

Wow Wow Wow Wow Wow

Attack on Titan fans have been spoiled throughout the series but never more spoiled than the latest “Two Brothers” episode referring to Eren Yeager and Zeke. This episode leaves the biggest cliffhanger at the end and will have your brain explode because you have to wait another week for an all new episode to see what happens.

This episode proves Zeke is the ultimate mastermind and with Captain Levi currently out of the way there is no one that can stop him. Even when Zeke seems to always have another trick up his bag.

When Zeke was down and out had to transform everyone including Falco into titans even after Colt pleaded with him desperately wasn’t even his biggest trick during the episode. Colt attempted to shield his brother from his transformation energy, which ultimately led to him being severely injured. Zeke eventually told Falco to attack Reiner since he had Eren pinned down. While Falco was trying to eat Reiner out of her Armored Titan, Porco sacrificed himself instead.

This led to Reiner attacking Eren but ended up trapped. Eren escapes his titan body and tries to reach Zeke until Gabi shoots his head off which ultimately ends up in Zeke’s hands.

In this part of the episode I thought Eren would be dead especially after it went on commercial break during Hulu but the episode continues with Eren memories and flashbacks that leads him into this sort of different dimension with Zeke and Ymir.

Eren was never in favor of Zeke’s plan and tried to use Ymir powers but Zeke suspected Eren wouldn’t go along with it. We learn that Ymir, the most powerful Titan is a slave of the royal family. Zeke is a descendant of the royal family, but not a direct descendant of the first king, Karl Fritz, he isn’t burdened by the vow of nonviolence that Fritz took when he came to Paradis. Also, Zeke is not actually the founding Titan but since he has Eren head in his hands, he has access to the founding titan power.

There was a flashback scene when Zeke and Eren were going over the plan but it was a very interesting dynamic to see if Zeke actually trusted Eren. In the scene, it seems like Zeke purposely avoided touching Eren but throws a baseball at him to see if he catches it. Eren doesn’t catch the baseball and for me I think Zeke learned Eren wasn’t comfortable with the plan.

Zeke could have also avoided touching Eren Yeager because maybe he couldn’t have possessed Ymir powers yet until he visited that same place back in episode 17. The next episode of Attack on Titan will have a lot of questions to be answered.

Does Mikasa kill Gabi? Is Eren Dead? What is Zeke’s next move? When will Captain Levi return?

This episode has been my favorite since the return. The back and forth scenes. I didn’t know what would happen. The paths visuals were stunning and I love how they showed Eren memories before entering the paths. This episode was a masterpiece.
