Taylor Swift has again captured the spotlight with the release of her latest album, “The Tortured Poets Department.” With 31 new tracks, Swift takes her listeners on a journey through her emotions, but it’s her not-so-subtle nod to her feud with Kim Kardashian that’s causing a stir.
The feud between Taylor Swift and Kim Kardashian traces back to 2016, stemming from a conflict involving Kanye West. Kardashian famously released a phone call that Swift claimed was edited to portray her in a negative light. Now, with the release of “The Tortured Poets Department,” Swift appears to be addressing the ongoing tension head-on.
One track, titled “thanK you aIMee,” seems to be a direct reference to Kardashian. The song’s chorus includes the lines, “Screamed ‘fucK you, aIMee’ to the night sky, as the blood was gushin,” leaving little doubt about the target of Swift’s message.
The lyrics of “thanK you aIMee” don’t mince words, subtly implying Swift’s superiority and success compared to Kardashian. Swift even suggests that Kardashian’s children are fans of her music, a notion supported by videos circulating online.
In one verse, Swift sings: “I wrote a thousand songs that you find uncool/ I built a legacy which you can’t undo/ But when I count the scars, there’s a moment of truth/ That there wouldn’t be this if there hadn’t been you/ And maybe you’ve reframed it/ And in your mind, you never beat my spirit black and blue/ I don’t think you’ve changed much/ And so I changed your name, and any real defining clues/ And one day, your kid comes home singin’/ A song that only us two is gonna know is about you, ’cause-” The release of “The Tortured Poets Department” has reignited interest in the longstanding feud between Swift and Kardashian.
