The three episodes of Stranger Things Season 5 Volume 2 came out on Netflix on Christmas Day. They lead to the Vecna fight and contain the hospital reunion from Lumax that features “A Never-Ending Story.”
Firstly, Nancy and Jonathan split. Many fans are confused by this breakup. The Duffer Brothers have clarified that Nancy Wheeler and Jonathan Byers are indeed broken up in Stranger Things, but it looked as if the actors did not know this either.
A reader added, “Yeah, Natalia and Charlie didn’t seem to know that Jancy broke up in that scene. They didn’t mention a breakup, so I’m not taking it too seriously until I see the epilogue.”
An honest confession by Will Byers in Episode 7, “The Bridge,” brought hugs to the group but also backlash for being too chatty. A fan said, “Trust Netflix to promote the gay agenda, whatever the pricetag. They’ve destroyed Stranger Things. What does his being gay have to do with beating Vecna?”
Episode 7 received an 84% critic rating and a 73% audience rating. “The Bridge” has now become the second-lowest-rated episode of Stranger Things, ranking above only “The Lost Sister” at 6.0.
Even with the lower mark, many praise the ability of Sadie Sink, as well as the chemistry between Sink and Caleb McLaughlin.
One fan expressed: “I’m lucky to love Rovickie and Lumax because the material is great.”
Many fans on social media enjoyed the Dustin and Steve moments, although they may not have been paced very well.
A fan was quoted as saying, “Dustin and Steve are my favorite thing about Stranger Things. Just so much complexity and emotion in this storyline, and the acting is incredible. I’m in awe of Gaten and Joe this season.”
If the second-lowest-rated episode in the show is episode 7, the end of the series could be similar to the end of the “Game of Thrones” series.
Stranger Things Season 5 Volumes 1 & 2 is currently out on Netflix. The finale of Stranger Things will be released on New Year’s Eve at 5 pm PT.
