The newest directorial offering from Olivia Wilde, titled The Invite, will hit a few select movie theatres on June 26 before expanding nationally in July, following a positive debut screening at the Sundance Film Festival.
Wilde is not only the director but also an actress in the film about the marriage between Joe and Angela, which becomes completely disrupted by their invitation to a dinner party for their upstairs neighbors. This attempt by the couple to save their faltering marriage ends up being much more complicated.
Seth Rogen, Penélope Cruz, and Edward Norton round off the ensemble cast for this movie, with Will McCormack and Rashida Jones working on the screenplay.
According to the studio, the film will be “hilariously unpredictable.” This movie is classified as a dark comedy, and its trailer has already been released.
The movie will first hit some movie theatres on June 26th and expand throughout the country in July.
