Created and written by Tony Award® winner J.T. Rogers, TOKYO VICE is set to captivate audiences once again with its highly anticipated second season, returning on THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 8, exclusively on Max. The ten-episode series, starting with a gripping double premiere, promises an intense ride through the criminal underbelly of Tokyo, as journalist Jake Adelstein, portrayed by Golden Globe® nominee Ansel Elgort, finds himself entangled in a web of danger.

Loosely based on Jake Adelstein’s firsthand experiences as an American journalist covering the Tokyo Metropolitan Police beat, the series unfolds on location in Tokyo, offering viewers an authentic glimpse into the city’s captivating yet treacherous criminal world. As Adelstein delves deeper, he discovers that his own life and those of his loved ones are at stake, paving the way for an edge-of-your-seat narrative.

The star-studded Season 2 cast features Ansel Elgort alongside acclaimed actors such as Academy Award® nominee Ken Watanabe, Academy Award® nominee Rinko Kikuchi, Rachel Keller, Show Kasamatsu, Ayumi Ito, and introduces new series regulars Yosuke Kubozuka and Miki Maya. With this ensemble, TOKYO VICE promises not only compelling storytelling but also outstanding performances that bring the characters to life.

Behind the scenes, the credits boast an impressive lineup of talent, including executive producers J.T. Rogers and Emmy® winner Alan Poul, along with a team that includes Alex Boden, Josef Kubota Wladyka, Brad Caleb Kane, Adam Stein, Ken Watanabe, Emmy® winner Emily Gerson Saines, Ansel Elgort, Jake Adelstein, Kayo Washio, Destin Daniel Cretton, Academy Award® winner John Lesher, and four-time Academy Award® nominee and Emmy® winner Michael Mann. The collaboration between FIFTH SEASON and WOWOW, Japan’s premium pay TV broadcaster, adds a global dimension to the series, with FIFTH SEASON handling worldwide distribution outside of Max-owned and operated platforms.

As TOKYO VICE Season 2 unfolds with weekly episodes, viewers can expect a riveting narrative, stellar performances, and an immersive journey into the complex world of crime and journalism. With its powerful storytelling and talented cast and crew, TOKYO VICE continues to be a must-watch series that keeps audiences on the edge of their seats.
