Aaron Sorkin will be returning to his 2010 drama The Social Network with a sequel, and its first teaser trailer has been released.

The Social Reckoning is written and directed by Sorkin and is an original screenplay based on the events depicted in a Wall Street Journal exposé titled “The Facebook Files.”

Frances Haugen, a young Facebook engineer (Mikey Madison), teams up with Wall Street Journal reporter Jeff Horwitz (Jeremy Allen White) in the story as they try to reveal secrets that the social network has kept under wraps for years.

Todd Black, Peter Rice, Sorkin, and Stuart Besser produce the project, with Lauren Lohman, Roger McNamee, Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Broderick Johnson, and Andrew A. Kosove executive producing. The ensemble cast also includes Wunmi Mosaku, Betty Gilpin, and Billy Magnussen.

Bill Burr and Jeremy Strong are in the principal cast, with Haugen as the young Facebook engineer who becomes the source of a Wall Street Journal investigation and article that reveals internal Facebook data the social network withheld from the public; the story is set in 2021.
