Paramount+ has released the official teaser for the fourth and last season of “Yellowjackets,” with the plane crash survivors finally back home, but with the haunting price of survival.
The Emmy-nominated series returns November 20th on Paramount+’s Premium plan.
Developed by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson, “Yellowjackets” is about a group of incredibly gifted teenage girl soccer players who survive a plane crash in the remote wilderness. The series blends survival, psychological horror, and coming-of-age.
This is the story of the collapse of the complex and thriving collective into savage groups, as well as the struggle of the survivors to build new lives almost 25 years after the disaster in the wilderness.
The last season’s cast includes Emmy-nominated actors Melanie Lynskey and Christina Ricci, as well as Tawny Cypress, Sophie Nélisse, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sophie Thatcher, Samantha Hanratty, Courtney Eaton, Liv Hewson, Warren Kole, Kevin Alves, Sarah Desjardins, Nia Sondaya, and Jenna Burgess. The cast also includes Hilary Swank, a two-time Academy Award winner.
Guest stars include June Squibb, Elijah Wood, Molly Ringwald, Devon Sawa, Sam Braun, and Dulé Hill, among others.
Promotion began earlier this week with the show’s return announced on an MTV News segment and a teaser shown during Alanis Morissette’s MTV Unplugged performance of “Ironic.”
Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson created and co-wrote “Yellowjackets,” and they also serve as executive producers alongside Drew Comins of Creative Engine, Jonathan Lisco, Jeff W. Byrd, Sarah L. Thompson, Ameni Rozsa, and Julia Bicknell. Lionsgate Television produces the series for Showtime.
All past seasons of “Yellowjackets” are available on Paramount+ with the Premium plan.
