Hulu’s Onyx Collective is gearing up for the highly anticipated return of its hit series “Unprisoned,” and the excitement is soaring with the announcement of new additions to its already stellar cast for Season 2.
The upcoming season promises to delve deeper into the tangled lives of the Alexander family, led by the incomparable Kerry Washington as Paige Alexander. As the family grapples with their individual struggles, including Paige’s faltering therapy practice, Finn’s crippling anxiety, and Edwin’s quest for redemption post-prison, they seek unconventional help in the form of a “family radical healing coach.”
Joining this powerhouse ensemble are Brandee Evans, Oliver Hudson, and Jamie Chung, each bringing their unique talents to the table.
Brandee Evans, best known for her captivating portrayal of Mercedes in the STARZ hit series “P-Valley,” steps into the role of Ava, Mal’s new girlfriend. With her intelligence and confidence, Ava is set to shake things up in the Alexander family dynamic.
Oliver Hudson, fresh off his stint on the FOX series “The Cleaning Lady,” takes on the role of Johnny, Finn’s biological father. Despite his unconventional approach to fatherhood, Johnny’s presence in Finn’s life is poised to add layers of complexity to their relationship.
Jamie Chung, acclaimed for her versatile performances in projects like HBO’s “Lovecraft Country,” joins the cast as Kiki, Paige’s college best friend. Now married and embracing a polyamorous lifestyle, Kiki injects a dose of excitement and unpredictability into Paige’s world.
These talented actors are set to intertwine their narratives with those of the Alexander family, adding depth and intrigue to an already gripping storyline.
“Unprisoned” Season 2 is slated to premiere on Wednesday, July 17, exclusively on Hulu’s Onyx Collective. With all eight episodes dropping at once, fans can expect a binge-worthy experience that delves into the complexities of family, redemption, and the pursuit of healing.
