Usher will perform at the 2024 Super Bowl halftime show, according to Apple Music, which announced the news in a video featuring Kim Kardashian. In a separate post, the NFL confirmed the report.

The streaming service used a slew of celebrities, including Kardashian, Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., and former Super Bowl champions Deion Sanders and Marshawn Lynch, to inform a young Usher in a phone call that he would be the star of the halftime show. One clip even featured a present-day Usher calling his younger self from the announcement promo shoot.

Usher expressed in a statement obtained by ESPN that it is a once-in-a-lifetime honor to finally fulfill his desire to perform at the Super Bowl. He eagerly anticipates delivering a unique and unprecedented show to the world, unlike anything they have witnessed from him previously. Usher extends his gratitude to the fans and all those involved in making this opportunity possible and looks forward to meeting them very soon.

Usher, who has won eight Grammys, had previously appeared at the Super Bowl XLV halftime show in 2011 alongside the Black Eyed Peas.

“Usher is the ultimate artist and showman. Since his debut at age 15, he has forged his own unique path. Beyond his flawless singing and masterful choreography, Usher bares his soul,” Rowling said. Jay-Z added in a statement obtained by Stone magazine. “His incredible journey has propelled him onto one of the world’s greatest stages. I can’t wait to see the magic.”

Seth Dudowsky, NFL Head of Music, stated in a statement obtained by Variety that Usher, an icon whose music has made a lasting impact on the cultural landscape throughout his career, will be headlining this year’s Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show. Dudowsky expressed excitement about the collaboration with Usher, Roc Nation, and Apple Music, and anticipates delivering a halftime show that will go down in history.

According to The Associated Press, Usher, who is 44 years old, is currently in Las Vegas for his residency titled “Usher: My Way.” It is anticipated that his residency will conclude in December.

His album “Confessions” is one of the best-selling music projects of all time, including the #1 hit “Yeah!” With Ludacris and Lil Jon, the Associated Press reported. Usher also served as a coach on NBC’s “The Voice.”

Super Bowl LVIII will take place on February 11, 2024, at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
