Victoria Justice Breaks Silence on Dan Schneider and ‘Quiet On Set’ Documentary

Following the continuing controversy involving former Nickelodeon producer Dan Schneider, actress Victoria Justice, renowned for her performances in “Victorious” and “Zoey 101,” has spoken forward to express her views.

Justice did not appear in the recent docuseries “Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV,” but she told Marie Claire in an interview released today, May 15, that she can connect to the difficulties presented in the documentary, specifically charges of a poisonous work atmosphere.

Victoria Justice admitted that Schneider noted for his work on multiple Nickelodeon episodes, had a “very large ego” that occasionally obscured his judgment and influenced how he handled others. While she noted that nothing sexual ever happened between them, she did admit to having some “in poor taste” moments.

The 31-year-old actress and singer stated that, while Schneider had mentioned owing people a “pretty strong apology,” she believed she was among those deserving of such acknowledgment. Despite this, she indicated that she does not expect an apology given their minimal encounters during her tenure at Nickelodeon.

Justice appreciated Schneider’s importance in establishing her career at an early age as she reflected on their tumultuous connection. She credited him with giving her the “big break” that changed her life, expressing gratitude for his belief in her abilities.

However, Justice made it clear that she does not condone Schneider’s actions, stating that if given the opportunity, he would most likely act differently. She said that his current apologies demonstrate his acknowledgment of prior misdeeds.

Justice’s comments join a growing list of Nickelodeon alumni who have spoken out about Schneider and the issues presented in “Quiet on Set.”
