The White Lotus fans, mark your calendars: the highly anticipated third season of the Emmy®-winning HBO series, created by Mike White, premieres Sunday, February 16, 2025, from 9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT. The eight-episode season will air on HBO and stream on Max, bringing a new chapter of biting social satire and mystery, this time set in a luxurious Thai resort.

A Tropical Paradise with Dark Secrets

The logline for Season 3 teases a week of tension, humor, and intrigue as the lives of wealthy guests and resort employees become intertwined. After successful previous seasons set in Hawaii and Sicily, respectively, this installment promises to delve deeper into the complexities of privilege, relationships, and personal ambition.

A Star-Studded Cast

The new season boasts an ensemble cast that features Leslie Bibb, Carrie Coon, Walton Goggins, Sarah Catherine Hook, Jason Isaacs, Lalisa Manobal, Michelle Monaghan, Parker Posey, Natasha Rothwell, and Patrick Schwarzenegger.

The series has an ensemble of other exciting actors, including Sam Nivola, Lek Patravadi, Tayme Thapthimthong, and Aimee Lou Wood, with Nicholas Duvernay, Scott Glenn, and Charlotte Le Bon, among many others.

Meet the New Characters

  • Leslie Bibb, Carrie Coon, and Michelle Monaghan play Kate, Laurie, and Jaclyn, three long-time friends reconnecting on a girls’ trip.
  • Walton Goggins stars as Rick Hatchett, a rugged and resentful man vacationing with his free-spirited girlfriend, Chelsea, played by Aimee Lou Wood.
  • Jason Isaacs and Parker Posey portray Timothy and Victoria Ratliff, a wealthy couple vacationing with their three children: Saxon (Patrick Schwarzenegger), Lochlan (Sam Nivola), and Piper (Sarah Catherine Hook).
  • Lalisa Manobal, known as a global K-pop sensation, debuts as Mook, a health mentor at the resort.
  • Lek Patravadi plays Sritala, a visionary and co-owner of The White Lotus in Thailand.

But the addition of Season 1 favorite Natasha Rothwell as Belinda, the manager of the Hawaiian White Lotus spa, in her Emmy-nominated role brings a fun layer of continuity.

A Legacy of Success

Since its debut in 2021, The White Lotus has garnered critical acclaim and a devoted fanbase. Season 1, set in Hawaii, won 10 Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series. Season 2, set in Sicily, followed suit with five Emmy wins, including Outstanding Drama Series.

Behind the Scenes

Mike White continues to serve as the creative force behind the series, writing, directing, and executive producing alongside David Bernad and Mark Kamine.

The full-length trailer today sets one up well on the promise of some great mayhem, drama, and excess to be unfolded finally on Thai shores. In other words, from shots filled with greens of tropical paradise down to simmering interpersonal hostilities, Season 3 may be in for yet more mordant satire intertwined in the story. Set into The White Lotus, discovering what is beneath Paradise.
