Watch Zendaya In Luca Guadagnino’s ‘CHALLENGERS’ Official Trailer

The first trailer for Luca Guadagnino’s ‘CHALLENGERS,’ starring Zendaya, Josh O’Connor, and Mike Faist has been released.

Zendaya channels her inner Serena Williams as a star tennis player in Luca Guadagnino’s lover’s triangle romance.

In the first trailer, the Emmy-winning actress plays Tashi, a star tennis player who became a coach after suffering a career-ending knee injury. Tashi manages her husband Art’s tennis career, but when he goes on a losing streak, he is forced to play against his childhood best friend, who is also Tashi’s ex-boyfriend.

Luca Guadagnino, director of the upcoming film, spoke with Indiewire about the three main characters. “I think those three characters in that movie are beautifully complex and really fucked-up people that I love very much. And a sports film, why not? It’s hyperkinetic, and I do films, so it’s great,” Guadagnino said.

Justin Kuritzkes wrote the screenplay. Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross are over the music in the film. Amy Pascal, Luca Guadagnino, Zendaya, and Rachel O’Connor serve as producers. Challengers is executive produced by Bernard Bellew.

Luca Guadagnino’s ‘CHALLENGERS,’ like his previous film “Bones and All,” is set to premiere at the Venice Film Festival this year. The film will be released in theaters on September 15th.
