White Woman Behind ‘Exposing Racists’ Series Says Apologies Come Only After ‘Negative Consequences’

A TikToker who posts videos featuring people accused of being racist explains that this series will continue since exposing individuals to society helps them understand their behavior.

In Kyle Brewer’s video called “Racists begging for mercy will ALWAYS be funny,” he provides his explanation of the matter.

“Hi, I’m Kylie, and if you don’t know me, I do a lot of videos on exposing racists,” Kylie starts her video.

Most of the video shows the responses he receives after posting some videos. Brewer claims these requests come constantly and follow a similar pattern.

“I always have people reaching out like, oh, my god, can you please take the video down? Please, please take it down. I’m so sorry,” Brewer states in the video.

The author claims these requests come from selfish interests, not true remorse.

“And the funny thing is, they’re not even sorry. They’re only saying to take it down because they are, for the first time in their lives, experiencing negative consequences for the behaviors, for the actions, for the words that they are putting out there,” Kylie states in the video.

Brewer points out that these people don’t feel regret about their behavior; they are concerned about being exposed.

“And they’re not truly sorry for being racist and bigots. They literally just feel the effects personally,” Brewer says.

Instead of stopping, Brewer keeps making more videos and asks viewers to tell him about potential subjects.

“And that’s why I’m going to continue the racist series. So if you guys have anyone, please send them to me,” Kylie says.

Brewer says that this series is a confrontation for a certain individual featured in the video.

“Because for the first time, if I can make white people reflect on their actions and force them to confront the idea that they are not good people, that is what I want to do,” Kylie says.

The author argues that realizing their own guilt leads to social change.

“That is how systemic change is made: by forcing individual people to realize that they are complicit in these systems and to create change,” Brewer says.

Even a change in behavior, but not in beliefs, can be considered a step toward improvement.

“And so even if I could stop someone from being overly racist because they only care about themselves, not having to experience racism, not having that racism out in the world is still going to be a little bit better,” Kyle says.

He finishes the video by saying the final result still cannot be guaranteed.

“Hopefully, I can change people’s minds overall, but we’ll see,” Kyle says.
