A TikTok influencer has said that white women, especially blond-haired women, have an overly inflated sense of their looks, stating that this mentality causes much animosity in her video.
Kylie Brewer named the video “Blonde wh!te women tend to overrate their attractiveness.” This is the sequel to her earlier video, where she said white men overestimate their looks.
Brewer claims that lots of white women find it hard to understand that other people might not think of them as the ultimate choice.
“If you tell them that you don’t think that, that’s the most attractive type of person out there, they literally cannot imagine it because for them, their experience of what they think is colorism is between blonde and brunettes,” Brewer said.
“And white women get incredibly territorial over blond hair and over men in general,” she added.
Afterward, Brewer connected it to her previous post.
“So if you saw my last video about how white men tend to overrate their attractiveness and think they’re more attractive than they are, certainly white women do this as well,” she said.
She used reality television, including the dating show “Love Island,” as proof.
“And there are plenty of examples going back to popular culture of, like, people from ‘Love Island,’ other contestants from other shows thinking, like, OK, they’re the person that everyone’s gonna want, when in reality that’s not necessarily the case because everyone has different preferences,” Brewer said.
Then she tied the mentality to the importance of race in the US.
“But because there’s such an ego for white people, because everything tends to revolve around whiteness in America and around white supremacy, it’s a genuine shock to them when they find that out,” she said.
She also directed viewers to the comment section of another video, where she says women share the same stories.
“And if you go to my other, like, post, you look through the comments, you’ll hear stories of women saying, ‘Yeah, like if I got attention and they didn’t, I’m a Black woman, and my white friends didn’t get attention, they would just stop being friends with me’,” Brewer explained.
Finally, she reiterated the point in the video.
“So yes, I wanted to state and clarify that white women can also overrate themselves and think they’re more attractive than they are, which causes a lot of hostility,” she concluded.
@kylie.brewer This is why wh!te women are so rude to Black/ Brown women they perceive as a threat. It’s wild… #leftist #education #humanrights #antiracism #intersectionalfeminism
