Peacock revealed the new Casa Amor Islanders for season eight of “Love Island USA.”
The shake-up has officially started: on last night’s episode, the male Islanders left the villa to “meet” the new women in a challenge that ended with a surprise twist. However, tonight’s episode sees 12 new single men join the competition with a series of speed dates.
The new Islanders, who will be meeting the single ladies in Casa Amor, are Carl Schmidt, 28, from Denver; Chandlar Wilson, 26, from Oklahoma City; Chay Nehra, 27, from San Diego; Corey Sawyer Jr., 24, from Longwood, Florida; Dylan Wrona, 24, from Los Angeles; Gal Tshnieder, 29, from Los Angeles; Ryan Ten Hulscher, 27, from Silver City, New Mexico; Ronnie Gunter, 25, from New York; Keyon Harry, 26, from North Babylon, New York; Kyle Greene, 26, from Tampa, Florida; Tino Ellis, 28, from Queens, New York; and Trae Taylor, 23, from Missoula, Montana.
The unveiling of new contestants comes just as Peacock announced that “Love Island USA” is its number-one streaming series, with a total of 2.3 billion minutes viewed for the weeks of June 1 and June 8, up 50% from the first two weeks of the previous season, per Nielsen. Nielsen said that its data from the week of June 8 is not finalized.
So far this season, the show has been viewed more than 1 billion times across social channels and has been the number one social series since launch, as recorded by Sprout and Social Content Rankings from May 28 to June 17.
The app also experienced a 175% increase in unique users for the “Love Island USA” season eight premiere compared to the season seven debut, according to ITV’s first-party data. The number of votes during season eight’s second vote this week jumped by more than 77% compared to season seven.
The dating reality show, hosted by Ariana Madix and narrated by comedian Iain Stirling, is available exclusively on Peacock, with new episodes released every day except Wednesdays at 6 p.m. PT/9 p.m. ET. “Aftersun,” the companion series, airs Saturdays at the same time.
The companion show, “Aftersun,” hosted by Ciara Miller and Tefi Pessoa, gives viewers a look at never-before-seen content, chats with recently eliminated Islanders as they re-adjust to the real world, including getting their phones and returning to friends and family, and candid interviews with exiting Islanders.
A group of single individuals navigates romance in a villa located in Fiji in “Love Island USA.” Throughout the season, the islanders form partnerships and face a variety of new challenges and surprises.
