Serena Williams recently just lost the U.S. Open to an young upcoming and promising tennis star in Naomi Osaka. During the U.S. Open final yesterday, the chair umpire Carlos Ramos first issued out Serena a warning for supposedly have gotten “coaching,” an handle signal from her coach Patrick Mouratoglou in the bleachers. It was unlikely that Serena saw the hand gesture from cross court while she’s locked into a match. It was a call that was set up to provoke and diminish the greatest tennis player of all time.

Serena became livid that the umpire would call her a cheater. She already feels unwelcome in the sport of tennis, a sport that she is face of and dominated for so many years now. She confronted the umpire for suggesting that she would ever cheat.

Serena says, “I don’t cheat to win; I’d rather lose.”

Earlier this year, Serena Williams was banned from wearing a “Wakanda Inspired ” catsuit that she wore during the French Open. It seems like there is a problem at every Grand Slam she competes in lately.

In her post match press conference, Serena said, “I just feel like the fact that I have to go through this is just an example for the next person that has emotions and that wants to express themselves and they want to be a strong woman and they’re going to be allowed to do that because of today. Maybe it didn’t work out for me, but it’s gonna workout for next person.”

After the match Serena Williams showed her sportsmanship. The stadiums erupted in boos after the unnecessary controversy. Serena wanted to make sure the young star Naomi Osaka got the respect she deserves after winning her first grand slam. Serena says, “I just want to tell you guys she played well and this is her first grand slam. Let’s not boo anymore. We will get through this. No more booing. Congratulations, Naomi.” It was beautiful to see Serena paid respect to one of the future greats in Tennis.

Tennis doesn’t want Serena to win another grand slam because then she would tie Margaret Court for most grand slam titles for a woman. Which would definitely cement her name as the greatest tennis player of all time. They don’t want the black girl from Compton to be the greatest of all time.
