The highly anticipated Wicked movie musical has officially wrapped up production, marking a watershed moment for the star-studded cast and crew.

Ariana Grande recently announced that she had completed filming, and now Cynthia Erivo, who plays Elphaba, has given fans a behind-the-scenes look with a broomstick-flying photo that captures the essence of her final day on set.

Erivo expressed her gratitude on Instagram, thanking the entire cast, including director Jon M. Chu, and giving a special shoutout to her Glinda, played by Ariana Grande. The caption reflects Erivo’s strong connection to the project, making fans eager to see her portrayal of Elphaba.

Despite a delay due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, Wicked: Part 1 is still scheduled for release on November 27. The second installment is set for November 26, 2025, and promises an epic continuation of the magical journey.

Director Jon M. Chu posted a sneak peek of the final day on his Instagram story, emphasizing the growing excitement as the film neared its conclusion. Jonathan Bailey, who plays Fiyero, also confirmed the completion of filming with a silhouette photo of his character’s costume.

Notable cast members Michelle Yeoh, Ethan Slater, Bowen Yang, Bronwyn James, and Marissa Bode completed their roles earlier this month, adding to the excitement for the film.

In a recent update, Chu hinted at the extraordinary nature of the upcoming year, teasing that more details will be revealed “soon-ish.” Fans are excited to see what surprises await them in this film adaptation.

The ensemble cast, led by Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba and Ariana Grande as Glinda, is impressive. Jonathan Bailey plays Fiyero, with Ethan Slater as Boq, Michelle Yeoh as Madame Morrible, and Jeff Goldblum as the Wizard.

Marissa Bode plays Elphaba’s younger sister, Nessarose, while Bowen Yang and Bronwyn James play Shiz University classmates Pfannee and ShenShen, respectively. Miss Coddle is portrayed by Keala Settle, and Aaron Teoh and Michael Carmichael play Avaric and Nikidik, respectively, adding depth to the Wicked universe.

Before the iconic yellow brick road and Dorothy’s story, the Wicked film invites audiences to explore the captivating backstory of Elphaba and Galinda, promising a new perspective on their complex relationship and the origins of Oz’s beloved characters.
