A woman in Miami-Dade County has been arrested after attempting to extort her boyfriend, deputies reported in the arrest report.
Nathalie Rodriguez Gonzalez, 19, was arrested Friday on the charge of threats/extortion, according to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office.
Rodriguez Gonzalez allegedly met the man while working as a waitress at the restaurant, and they soon became a couple, deputies said.
However, several dates later, Rodriguez Gonzalez learned he had a girlfriend the whole time they were seeing each other, deputies said.
She started threatening the man with texts demanding $20,000 from him, deputies added.
Otherwise, she would up the demand for $5,000 and send the photos of their intimate moments to both his girlfriend and business partner, deputies noted.
Rodriguez Gonzalez also said she would post the photos on all her social media profiles, deputies said.
The man refused to pay, but Rodriguez Gonzalez sent one of the photos to his business partner, the report stated.
She asked him for his girlfriend’s phone number to send the photo there too, saying: “Should I post this on my IG and tag everyone??”
Then Rodriguez Gonzalez sent this photo to his girlfriend, telling her: “This will genuinely get posted if he doesn’t wire me money BTW,” the report revealed.
Later she posted a censored photo of them to her TikTok profile, along with some others, and continued sending him the threatening messages, at one point asking him to pay money or else she would make the situation even worse, and at another point, she threatened to deport him unless he would pay the demanded sum.
In the separate message thread, she wrote that she had always intended to scam him and just carried out her plan, according to the report.
The man visited Kendall District Station of the sheriff’s office on August 24 and recognized Rodriguez Gonzalez in the picture, the report stated.
Rodriguez Gonzalez was arrested Friday at her house and brought to the police station, where she made a full confession, according to the report.
As of Monday, Rodriguez Gonzalez is being detained at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a $7,500 bond.
