WWE NXT Star Jaida Parker Faces Backlash for Supporting Controversial Ban on Trans Athletes in Women’s Sports

NXT wrestler Jaida Parker is at the center of growing controversy after she liked an Instagram post that called for transgender athletes to be barred from women’s and girls’ sports at federally funded schools.

An Instagram post, coming from the handle (@Spiritualword), flagged the passage of the “Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act of 2025” by the U.S. House of Representatives earlier this week.

The bill defines sex, for the purposes of determining athletic eligibility at any educational institution receiving federal funding, as determined by “reproduction biology and genetics at birth.”

The bill passed the House on a vote of 218-206, with two Democrats voting to support Republicans. Its prospects in the Senate are murky, particularly given the 60-vote threshold over a filibuster.

In effect, Parker cosigned the post. The fans and followers took to social media to show their disapproval of her apparent support for discriminatory practices against transgender athletes.

The criticism reached a fever pitch when Parker responded to a Twitter user calling her out, saying, “If you gon check me come correct. God Bless.”
