Actress Rachael Carpani, who appeared in nearly 180 episodes of ‘McLeod’s Daughters’, the popular Australian drama series ‘McLeod’s Daughters’, has died at the age of 45.

Her family announced this information through Instagram, stating that she had a chronic illness but died “unexpectedly” earlier this month.

“It is with great sadness that Tony and Gael Carpani announce that their beautiful daughter, beloved Australian actress Rachael Carpani, unexpectedly but peacefully passed away after a long battle with chronic illness, in the early hours of Sunday 7th December,” read a statement.

In 2021, Carpani shared that she went to the hospital with abdominal pain and underwent surgery for an illness she did not disclose.

She recently had a recurring role in Home and Away, a long-running soap series on Channel 7. She also featured in the US series NCIS: Los Angeles, the A&E series The Glades, and The Way Back, a 2020 basketball film written by and starring Ben Affleck.

She is also famous in Australia for “McLeod’s Daughters,” in which she portrayed Jodi Fountain, a kind-hearted character from 2001 to 2009. In an interview with 7News last year, she explaithat ned she relocated to America because she did not want people to think of her as “Jodi from ‘McLeod’s Daughters'” in her native country.
