A fight between an 18-year-old girl and her mother’s boyfriend has created a split on social media, after the teenager recorded the man removing her bedroom door from its hinges.
In the video, the man can be seen dismantling the door while being filmed by the girl. Crying, she reminds him that she is an 18-year-old grown-up woman and that she will tell her mother what had happened to her.
The man dismisses her argument; the video shows him repeatedly calling her a “little girl” and telling her that being 18 “doesn’t matter” because she had moved back into her mother’s home. He appears to taunt her about having to return to live there. Meanwhile, the teen’s mother can be seen on the stairs, apparently holding the man back as tensions escalate.

In a separate video that the teen described as a “story time,” she laid out how the dispute began. “Here’s a story time that you guys have all been asking for,” she said. “So to understand the story, we have to go back two weeks.”
She said she had needed to fly to another state for court and that the man offered to give her a ride home from the airport. “So I obviously took up the offer and said yes,” she said. When she arrived, she said, she received no text from him but got a message from her mother: “Where are you? He’s here. He’s about to leave. Like, he’s about to leave you if you don’t text.”
In text messages with her mother that day, she said she called the man a “d—head.” She said she felt comfortable doing so “because he had called me and my siblings names before, and he never got any consequences for it.”
“So he’s not allowed to call people names, but as soon as I do, it’s the end of the world,” she said. “And I just thought that was a really d—head move.” She said she told her mother, “I’ll get an Uber,” and went home, where no one was there.
The teen said she got in trouble when her mother and the man returned. According to her account, the man pulled her siblings from their rooms, had them sit at the table, and began reading aloud the messages she had sent. “I was reading them too slow for him, so he took my phone and started reading them,” she said. She said that when she got up to go to her room, “he then tried to stop me and curse at me. So that leads to the whole thing. That’s why he’s mad at me.”
The teen said the video was recorded the following morning, after her mother asked her to retrieve a box from the garage or basement. She said the man approached as she searched and asked, “What do you need? Why are you just standing here?” She said she replied, “I’m just looking for a box that mom told me to get,” and that he “took that as you have an attitude.”
“I’m not dealing with this. I’m just gonna go to my room, slam the door,” she recalled telling herself. She said the man then opened the door, followed her, and called her a “b—-,” bringing up the earlier incident again. She said he followed her upstairs to her doorway, where her mother tried to intervene.
She said the man claimed she had “a tongue, which I didn’t,” and that she pushed back: “No, you’re gonna let me talk to my mom. You don’t let me tell my mom the truth.” She said that is the point in the video where he tells her to “shut up.”
The teen said the behavior had been going on for six years. “He’s very emotional and gets mad at the littlest things ever,” she said, describing the earlier dispute as “a simple misunderstanding.”
She said that after she posted the video, the man’s daughter saw it and sent it to him, “and that’s when he took my door off hinges and told me to delete it.” She said she did not understand why the man’s daughter was defending him, adding that “two Christmases ago, she called the cops on him for putting his hands on her. So she knows her dad, she knows how he acts.”
She identified the man by his first name, David, and pointed viewers to what she described as his mugshot, saying the booking reason was “simple battery, FB, family violence.”

In a later video titled “Life Update,” the teen thanked her supporters. “I just wanna say thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who has supported me,” she said, whether through donations to a GoFundMe, items from an Amazon wish list, “or simply words of encouragement and kindness.
She gave special thanks to a woman named Britney, who she said set up the fundraiser and shared her story. “She has gone above and beyond to help me with all of this,” she said. “I genuinely don’t know where I’ll be without her right now.”
“I am no longer living where I was before,” she said, adding that she is now staying with a relative and had been able to buy necessities because of supporters’ generosity. “At the moment I am actively applying for jobs and doing everything I can do to become financially independent,” she said.
She said she wanted to be transparent about the fundraiser, explaining that the money “is going to legal expenses such as attorneys and like other expenses relating to my case.” She thanked her followers again for “sitting by me during this difficult time” and closed with a final message to Britney: “Thank you, Britney, for everything you’ve done. It really wouldn’t have been possible without you.”
