TikTok star of Brazil Duda Alves, 22, has died several days after sharing a story of her struggle after breast reduction surgery with her fans.
Duda Alves’ real name is Maria Eduarda Alves dos Santos. She died on September 13th; her family revealed her death publicly on September 15th, and the young woman was buried on the same day at São João Paulo II Parish in Brasília.
It is still unknown what led to Duda Alves’s death. According to the Civil Police of the Federal District, the death of the popular Brazilian is under investigation as a suicide. Still, they refused to give any other information to respect the privacy of the victim’s family. At this moment, no one could connect her surgery or her recovery process with her death, and the investigation has not defined the official cause of death.
Before her death, the girl published several videos related to her post-surgery experience. Alves shared videos about her pain and crying during recovery and her problems with frequent vomiting after the surgery. In addition to this, the young woman spoke about mean comments people left about her decision to do the surgery. UOL noted that the girl decided to get a breast reduction operation because she felt uncomfortable wearing sports clothes and thought that her breasts were disproportionate.
Alves had more than 800 thousand followers on TikTok and Instagram, where she shared various moments of her life, including videos with her partner. She gained 27 million likes for her videos where she expressed her disappointment in everyday things.
