A TikToker is urging her followers to avoid any coded white supremacist messaging they might find online, which includes two particular symbols and a slur against women.

Kylie Brewer walked viewers through three different examples in her video “PLEASE watch out for these!N*zi dog whistles.” A dog whistle is coded messaging designed to convey an implied message to a certain target audience without alerting others.

“If you see any of these things, just know that this is white supremacist content,” Brewer says in the video. “It is not something you should interact with at all.”

The first example she gives is “tears of joy,” which Brewer links to an image of a woman dating back to 1938.

“This is related to this image of a woman from 1938 and is used by white supremacists to indicate that this is who they belong to,” she explains. “This is the group they belong to without flagging the algorithm and getting banned.”

She also refers to the second example she gave in the video as “tears of joy,” but corrects herself in the post’s caption.

“EDIT: the second is never lose your smile. I misspoke!!!” she writes.

According to Brewer, the second symbol looks like the bottom part of a skull.

“This one is meant to mimic the bottom half of a skull. It somewhat resembles the SS symbol for the Nazi regime,” Brewer says. “And again, this is meant to instill fear and represent the hatred of Jewish people as well as any other minority.”

The SS, which stands for the Nazi paramilitary organization in charge of running the regime’s concentration camps, used to wear an emblem in the form of a death’s head known as Totenkopf.

Brewer also notes that subtlety is part of the trickery.

“And also, again, a way to be very subtle. And a dog whistle,” she says. “So sometimes people will laugh at this, or they’ll comment under it without knowing what’s going on, which is deception is also what they want.”

The last term she flagged is “foid,” which is a slur against women.

“Calling any woman a foid is really disgusting and offensive,” she says. “It stands for a combination of female and humanoid.”

According to Brewer, that particular word reflects the ideologies of whoever uses it.

“And the only people who use this language are genuinely the most despicable, white supremacist, horrible people,” she adds. These people are typically found in forums of incels or involuntary celibates, so you better stay away from those who use such language.

Involuntary Celibate is an online subculture of men who blame women for their inability to build romantic and sexual relationships.

“Brewer signs off with ‘See y’all.'”

In the post’s caption, she urges viewers to share her message.

“But pls share this info if you can. It’s important to be aware so you don’t get sucked into wh!te supremacist spaces!!” she writes.

Brewer replaces letters with symbols in “Nazi” and “white” in the video’s title and caption. It is a common tactic among creators trying to avoid flags and bans on the platform.
